Registration by Companies in the Electronic Judicial Domicile

As of March 1st, large and medium-sized companies throughout Brazil will have 90 days to voluntarily register with the Electronic Judicial Domicile, a tool of the Justice 4.0 Program that centralizes the notifications of proceedings from all Brazilian courts on a digital platform.

The Electronic Judicial Domicile, a 100% digital and free solution, seeks to streamline consultations for those who receive and follow up on summonses, subpoenas and other process notifications. When registering, companies will inform which e-mail address they will receive summonses and subpoenas. The implementation of the Electronic Judicial Domicile aims to simplify the way the courts operate.

The registration schedule began in 2023, with the first stage aimed at banks and financial institutions. Currently, the phase is aimed at registering private companies throughout the country, with an estimated 20 million active companies. It is not compulsory for small and micro companies that have an electronic address in the integrated system of the National Network for the Simplification of Registration and Legalization of Companies and Businesses (Redesim) and for individuals.

Registration will be compulsory after May 30, based on data from the Federal Revenue Service, and the company will be subject to financial penalties and the risk of losing procedural deadlines.
